Here is another question. Does anyone here use film and develop their own negatives into pictures?

I did until 2-3 years ago.

I do shoot as mentioned B/W and C41 color film (B/W mostly) and do develop at home.
Caffenol-C-L for most films, and if I have films that didn't like Cafenol-C-L (most Rollei films) I'll use Ilford Ilfosol 3
    For C41 color I use Cinestill Cs41.
Don't have an enlarger so I have a hybrid setup (Plustek Opticfilm 8200i) and scan the negatives I want to use.

This sounds really embarrassing but I've never actually seen a camera film, only sd cards. My neighbour told me all about film and microfish???? but he lost me. Never seen it.

Not microfish (which I guess are really tiny fish).

    🙄

It's microfiche. A method of archiving newspapers, magazines and other printed materials on film. Here's one link www.easytechjunkie.com/what-is-microfiche.htm

And a roll of 35mm film in its metal cartridge, next to the plastic container the cartridge is sold in, ready to be popped into a film camera.

36 was the official number, but if your camera would allow you, you could just squeeze 39 out.

You could get 12's too, but they were much less common.

Whenever I do a portfolio set its usually around 300 to 400 photos and then I only usually keep about 100 to 150 for a set. How much would 10 of the 36 films have cost before digital?

Depended on the decade. In the 1970s, $4-5 for a roll of slide film. Much more for prints from negative film. The prices went up quite a bit in the 80s and 90s.

120 film came in 12 and 16 exposure lengths.

    So about $100/£100 then? 😮
