Does EFC shutter work with manual lenses (or no lens) on your Panasonic MFT camera?

Question only applies to cameras which give a choice of Mechanical, Electronic First Curtain, or Electronic shutters.

That is: will your camera allow EFC with a manual lens (or no lens at all), or does you camera force Mechanical shutter?

I just discovered that Panasonic S1 & S5 don't allow EFC with manual lenses, and I wondered how long this bug had been around.

The main point of EFC is to reduce shutter shock. It also has slightly less latency than fully mechanical shutter.

My Panasonic G85 is the only model supporting EFCS, M-shutter and E-shutter.

When adopting a MF lens, EFCS will be disabled, so either M or E-shutter only.

For the latest electromagnetic control m-shutter of Panasonic (first was used on GX85), shutter shock should have been eliminated a lot if not completely. TBH even the EFCS of G85 might not eliminate shutter shock 100%. E-shutter is the best solution. Since E-shutter of G85 has same bit depth of M-shutter, basically E-shutter can replace EFCS except for the certain situation, e.g. using flash or to avoid branding etc.

G9 here, no EFCS as well on manual lenses too. I don't think it's a bug though.

My GX8, G9 & G100's all disable EFC with a manual focus lens attached. The way it is.
