Unable to access site over the past 12 hours, at least not from Germany.
Perhaps they are making an upgrade to a larger system.

No problem here in France. I just accessed it, at 9am.
Yet a couple of days ago I received about 250 mails of notifications after a two months silence. There is something odd at DPR.

If martinhb is referring to the dprforum.com site, rather than the forums on DPReview then it may be that they are apparently merging the camera-info.com sites.

That’s with dpreview, the old site. Lots of complaints there in the site and feedback, i saw someone getting close to 5000 so you may have some way to go.

As you correctly guessed, I was referring to the dprforum.com site, which is now back up & accessible from here.
The cause of the error was most likely, as you mention, due to the merging of the site with camera-info where it declares its new name as DPRF.
