My grandchildren like Paw Patrol, while NYC-based Gear Patrol is totally into men's gear,
like exclusive shoes, clothes, tech, and similar men's stuff (only the expensive sort).
The Gear Patrol seems to disregard women's needs, even though there are some females involved.
The company seems to be very well-funded, so I think DPReview has found a safe haven from now on!
Users seem to be treated just as before (you can the same IDs et cetera), while those trying to link to images or articles are
warned off, as the Fear Patrol will get you! Eh, for Fear, read Gear.
Hopefully things work just as well in 50 years!
Once again, there are several posts already about it Tord. 😉
No shortage of companies catering towards women.
Yes! The old forum lives. That's good because the competition is healthy. My suggestion is not to worry about "Gear Patrol" and post all kinds of "stories" about them, and instead concentrate on makg this forum DIFFERENT, BETTER< ANDMORE UNIQUE!
I don't think Gear Patrol is misogynistic, they just know their market and their readers. They are a well-connected ad and production agency as well and they are gonna be a tough competitor.
As a long-time commercial photograher, I never relished in any of my competitor's misfortune. If another studio failed in business, it could have been because of their ineptitude or a sign of a shrinking or rapidly changing market. It's never a good thing!
