Here is a topical post for Easter
I have become fascinated by the Renaissance clay sculptures, that I have come across in my part of Italy. This set shows "The Deposizione dalla Croce", ( 1530) in San Francesco, Modena, by Antonio Begarelli. The style veers towards classical antiquity, rather than realism, but all the drama and passion of Easter is here, rather than our presentsaccharine Easter bunnys.
