This forum reminds me of Ed Debevic’s in Chicago. Famously known for its snarky service. People would travel long distances just to be treated like crap. The worse the treatment, the bigger the tip.
Places like that annoy me. There is another in Chicago that if you go in wearing a necktie, someone will cut it off with a scissors. I forget the name.
My favorite dive bar in the world was Pippen's. Loved that place.
It's a delicate balance. I work with 100's of costumers every day.. Mostly a little rough "hello" opens a good relationship. Been doing it for 30+ years. Sometimes I miss the mark totally but the unexpected welcome works with most.
Obviously it's easier to feel the reaction live than online where you can't see eachothers eyes 😎
