About the image: Another keeper here. I was on the way to the Outer Hebrides and drove across the pass at just after 4pm. There had been some heavy, thundery showers across Lochaber which were clearing to reveal the afternoon sun. I've got this printed and hung in my gallery in the hall.

    Let the editing begin...

    General rules:
A previous round winner presents an image, having at least some potential for different crops or visions.
Anyone (except author of original image) can enter and edit the presented image, up to three distinct edits in separate posts are permitted, though the author can show his edit at the close of the competition, but not before.
All edits must be based on original image, not on another people's edits (of course borrowing ideas would not be a problem).
Short explanations about your editing intentions are encouraged, but not required.
Once the deadline for images has been reached, no new image versions will be accepted. Questions and (polite) discussions of techniques are welcome, so that we can learn from one another how certain edits were achieved.
The edited version with most likes, wins and its author will start next round.
On the closing day for voting, if there is a draw in the number of likes for two or more edits, then the person that posted the original image will decide the winner.

    Editing rules:
All "normal" adjustments (brightness, colours, curves etc) are permitted (both local and global ones).
All geometric adjustments (perspective, cropping etc) are permitted.
Artistic effects (brushes, textures etc) are allowed.
No additions or replacements may be made to the main subject matter of the image; non-essential objects may be removed, and parts of the original image can be "moved" to a different position in the image. Sky replacements are OK unless the sky is the main subject. (We are still refining this rule).
Generative AI must not be used.

    Timing:
Get your images posted by Tuesday 3rd June. Voting allowed up to the choosing of the winner on Wednesday 4th.

You can vote during the entire contest.
    I'll post reminders.

Personally I thought the origial was too dark, so I pulled it into LRc and applied some changes.Pulled up exposure, shadows, whites and clarity (the exact recipe remains a closely guarded family secret 😁)

My second attempt takes the 'moodyness' (is that a word?) and makes it stronger with a storm coming over, but still some sunlight in the bottom left.

Tried to keep this one fairly natural. I’m assuming the cloud cover behind us is still quite dark and there’s not much light at all for the trees in the foreground or the “back” of hills so they can all stay in fairly deep shadow. The water is however catching the light from the front where the sun is just breaking through the clouds and so it shines out with a lot of contrast to the dark hills.

I added a little more pink to this version with a LUT from On One's free effects plugin.
