A very dark space with very deep shadows and a good bit of dynamic range to deal with, this place is not unlike shooting in a cave. Have at it...

    General rules:
A previous round winner presents an image, having at least some potential for different crops or visions.
Anyone (except author of original image) can enter and edit the presented image, up to three distinct edits in separate posts are permitted, though the author can show his edit at the close of the competition, but not before.
All edits must be based on original image, not on another people's edits (of course borrowing ideas would not be a problem).
Short explanations about your editing intentions are encouraged, but not required.
Once the deadline for images has been reached, no new image versions will be accepted. Questions and (polite) discussions of techniques are welcome, so that we can learn from one another how certain edits were achieved.
The edited version with most likes, wins and its author will start next round.
On the closing day for voting, if there is a draw in the number of likes for two or more edits, then the person that posted the original image will decide the winner.

    Editing rules:
All "normal" adjustments (brightness, colours, curves etc) are permitted (both local and global ones).
All geometric adjustments (perspective, cropping etc) are permitted.
Artistic effects (brushes, textures etc) are allowed.
No additions or replacements may be made to the main subject matter of the image; non-essential objects may be removed, and parts of the original image can be "moved" to a different position in the image. Sky replacements are OK unless the sky is the main subject. (We are still refining this rule).
Generative AI must not be used.

    Timing:
Get your images posted by Thursday, June.12th. Voting allowed up to the choosing of the winner on Friday, June 13th.
You can vote during the entire contest.

    I'll post reminders.

I like contrast :) Also I attempted to make stage and musicians stand out a bit more.

I tried to concentrate on the audience watching the concert. So I cut away a lot of stuff that did not matter for my interpretation.

Here's my first try - the audience are not important but are essential.

My second try. This time, I wanted that light in the middle to be 'front & centre'. So I changed it's colour and removed the little light behind it. I still had the audience in B&W.

First was a crop to what I thought was enough, then some creative color and detail work in color efex, which necessitated a trip through a noise removal program that I'm just learning and haven't got the hang of yet.

It's hard this time - especially as I actually think my first one is the best (but I can't vote for me) 🤣😂😁

Congrats, ArvoJ. With 4 votes, a clear winner this time. The ball is now in your court.

Thanks to everyone who had a go, some interesting efforts but, being someone who usually prefers a "natural" looking rendering, this was my favorite edit as well.

    editme31-dxo-1.jpg

Darker shadow detail than I prefer, but this does convey an authentic feel of the place. I very much like the crop - both the subject and venue are well represented without distraction. If you're interested, this was my original edit, I'm now reconsidering the crop.

    I'm now reconsidering the crop.

My image was 1:1 - this is often not considered an usable ratio, but I have seen (experimented lately) that it helps to concentrate on the main subject. As in this image are at least two competing and attention catching themes (architecture and concert), then I attempted to suppress architecture somewhat to make 'live' aspect of this image to prevail. There are many different crops possible for this image - as we can see on different versions here.

I put a mask on the orchestra, inverted it and then reduced the saturation. All in Lightroom Classic.

    Thank you for the reply.
