Continuing the image editing topic, 53rd issue.

    General rules:

A previous round winner presents a busy or just not so interesting image, having at least some potential for different crops or visions.
Anyone (except author of original image) can edit the presented image, up to three distinct edits in separate posts are permitted.
All edits must be based on original image, not on another person's edits (of course borrowing ideas would not be a problem).
Short explanations about your editing intentions and/or techniques are encouraged, but not required.

Once the deadline for images has been reached, no new image versions will be accepted. Questions and (polite) discussions of techniques are welcome, so that we can learn from one another how certain edits were achieved.
The edited version gathering most likes wins and its author will start next round, unless they would prefer to pass the torch to someone else.
On the closing day for voting, if there is a draw in the number of likes for two or more edits, then the person that posted the original image will decide the winner from the the photos receiving the most votes.

    Editing rules:

All "normal" adjustments (brightness, colours, curves etc) are permitted (both local and global ones).
All geometric adjustments (perspective, cropping etc) are permitted.
Artistic effects (brushes, textures etc) are allowed.
No additions or replacements may be made to the main subject matter of the image; non-essential objects may be removed, and parts of the original image can be "moved" to a different position in the image. Sky replacements are OK unless the sky is the main subject..
Generative AI must not be used.

    Timing:
Get your images posted by midnight UTC, Jan 1st. As always, you can vote during the entire contest plus one day after the image submission deadline.

    The subject.
This one I still haven't happily finalised, despite several versions. Many ways to go here.
Couldn't get low enough, couldn't get far enough back, bright sky, shady foreground etc, etc.
This JPEG is only lightly touched. It's provided with plenty of pixels to play with, anyone who wants to play with the RAW (60MB), message me.

    Enjoy, Ron.

Raw was over- and under-exposed according to RawDigger and well-saturated, too. Also quite soft at pixel level.

Exported from RawDigger as RGB; then resized and edited in FastStone Viewer (FSV):

    DSC02151-RGB.jpg

In FSV, one can sharpen multiple times; in this image after resampling Lanczos2 (sharper) I sharpened in a series four times with reducing pixel size and increasing amounts. That got me some serious halos, duh ...

Not much point in an easy challenge ! The whole thing is a low/wrong light grab.
FWIW 95% of the sky is retrievable in a RAW environment (C1 here) which is pretty much what I limited exposure to.
Seeing it's only one shot, you might try opening the .arw directly in FastStone, it'll be slow to load, but doable.

Here is my effort. I didn't find any part of the sky unrecoverable. By the same token, I tried not to let the sky take focus away from the old sheds. I removed some (what I thought were) distractions. Tried to emphasise the textures in the corrugated iron and the old water tank. Tried not to let the colour of the grass get too out of hand. All done in ACR and a few minor tweaks in Photoshop.

I flunked Smiley school, so cutting to the chase remains my online style.

I have shifted the green of the grass to a bit more yellow which separates the grass from the trees a bit more. I would be very interested to know where you are located. Close by to where this was taken?

Pretty much. We're on the coast at Inverloch, pretty much squeezed in by the rolling green of the hills.
It's a resort/retired fogey town, ( a pox on Air BNB !) but we hide on the back streets, so it's more than tolerable even during the season.
We have easy drive access to Phillip Island and Wilson's Prom, so a wide variety of stuff to point a cam at.
Bena is on the spine of the hills at Top Center.
