I am having to close this down a couple of hours early to go out of town.

CONGRATULATIONS TO QUARKCHARMED on a win this week! I'll be adding some comments to this thread, but wanted to pass the baton so Quarkcharmed can get started looking for a new image to challenge our imaginations and skills.

Here is Quarkcharmed's winning edit. I look forward to more fun in the coming week.

I'm not usually a fan of distortion, but this works remarkably well.

I think it was interesting to make the old gin a subject. And whatever you used did a good job of removing the edges of the truck. The sky is pretty threatening, unlike the sleet clouds we had that morning.

The winner! Found a way to emphasize the truck and de-emphasize the cluttered background. (They had ever more stuff than I could show in one shot.)

I was in hopes someone would make that old cotton gin the subject. I love those things. Most are inoperative now but they used to be in every little town, and are great fun to explore with a camera, so much rusty old machinery, so many nooks and crannies.

Not only did you give us a pink sky, you created a subtle reflection of it on the surfaces of the buildings, truck, and even the land. Cleverly done.

Interesting color work actually changes the season from winter to spring. Cool.

Not only did you turn the weather stormy, you hastened the decay of the old truck and the old gin. Interesting artistic rendition.

Brightened it quite nicely, too, and beat back the threat of the imminent sleet storm that hit moments after I shot this. Very nice version that helps the photo realize its natural potential.

The down-under version of the Crossroads, deserves its own blues song.

Excellent color change on the truck to a rusty orange instead of royal blue. Looks very realistic. There was a rusted truck just about like this parked on the other side of this field.

I am partial to the vintage look entries, but never edited a version of my own in sepia or old-time black and white. I see that I need to do that.Nicely done.

Another take on a vintage film look. I really like the muted toned colors.

And an entirely different kind of vintage film look. When I was shooting this set, I felt like I was trailing William Eggleston. This is close to where he grew up and shot so much of his earlier work.

Interesting rendition, especially with the limited color palette and what you did with the lighting along the left side. It looks like Bonnie and Clyde might be hanging out here.

Psychedelic truck! yet you preserved all that grungy detail.
