A last minute entry
Nice sunset, amazing how much detail there is in the "almost black" part of the RAW image. Not much noise either !
I opened up the shadows but kept them fairly dark, so that the sun set still has a chance to shine out with it's glorious brightness. The colours remain more or less true

Thank you all for your efforts. It was interesting and enlightening to see the different ways you interpreted the image. As it happens, the end result that I got from it is similar to Paula's try and this is what I've entered into a local competition - I'll let you know how it gets on. [I think I prefer Paula's effort and I wish I'd done it like that].
