Hi. I got the Pana S5 and the 20-60. Thinking of getting a Canon EF 70-200/4 to complement it. Now I obviously need to choose an adapter. Not a lot wiser from reading reviews and comments so far. AFAIK there are 5 alternatives: Sigma, Viltrox, Viltrox Pro, Fotodiox and Commlite. Might have missed some. It seems that none of them support CAF except for one claim about Commlite with some particular lens which I can't remember. No big deal as I don't use it much anyway though it would have been nice. The 70-200 will probably get a collar so don't see much use for a tripod mount = another nice but not necessary option. I assume they all have a port for firmware updates so who will be the most diligent updater ? but not a #1 concern for me either. Any observations specifically on the Canon 70-200? If nothing else comes up maybe build quality (Sigma?) or €€€ (Commlite?) should decide. Price range seems to be about 120-250€ which is not huge as I don't plan on getting more than one.

The Sigma MC-21 works with some/many Canon lenses, but it it seems to be mainly designed for compatibility with Sigma's own EF-mount lenses.
On S1[HR]/S5, only single-AF is available. Continuous (PD)AF is available on S5ii.
I'd expect the 70-200 f/4 to work with MC-21, but the ideal would be to try before buying. -
Thanks. I found a pretty good thread with some well informed replies though it didn't really make the choice any clearer but that's ok. At least I know more about what's involved. Been looking at the cheaper non-IS model but wondering if the S5's IBIS works well enough with it or would I be better off with the IS model. Perhaps IBIS is fine at shorter FLs but ILIS better on longer ones?
