Email verification for new accounts?

Suggest adding email verification to account creation process.
Also suggest a captcha type human validation.

I mentioned this last week.

Once the spammers get in and become “sleepers”, they can “bomb” the forum weeks or months later as they/we have the ability to edit old/dormant posts.

Forum spammers can and do make a great deal of money with a couple of hundred active links hidden in the depths of an online forum.
Editing an old post does not return it to page-one.

Confirmation of city and state -or- city and country of members here can be used for verification, and to examine and compare their IP addresses (visible in the forum database) against known bad-actors (IP ranges) in anti-spam databases.

oh... many of them are Spambots!
