I thought I'd share this second part now as the pictures are backing up and I have an earlier trip to the Botanical Gardens in the heat of the day I want to get to sometime before the end of the Day Lily season ,,, Here is the Day Lily garden as the sun goes down ….

    and a Day Lily ….

    2 Day Lily.jpg

We moved on to the one rose I found in bloom …

    3 Rose.jpg

These old English roses seem to do well, others have not done well at the Botanical Gardens due to Japaneses Beetles and many diseases that plague roses.. so there is no rose garden here ...

But the Hydrangeas are beginning to show up here and there ..

A look at a bridge that I like to photograph under different light ….

Another Day Lily that seems to have volunteered along the walkway ..

    5 Another Day Lily.jpg

    More lilies ….

    6 Lily.jpg

    7 Still Another Day Lily.jpg

and a bird in flight, sort of, as we left the gardens for this evening …

    8 Heron.jpg

Too many pictures for one post but they are accumulating and I'd like to share more but then …

    WhyNot

BTW I notice that this forum is beginning to feel more like those where we just hang pictures on the wall with little to no conversation about the pictures shared … Too any defections and not enough new faces showing up here to share pictures, I fear … I don't hang pictures on Internet walls …. and hope this changes … I'll look around ….

Nice to look through WN. We had one small day lily in bloom yesterday. It is a smaller variety and appears before the larger ones. The rose is really nicely photographed and a beautiful image.

I don't spend as much time here as I did at DPR. Morning usually on the computer and some viewing but not much in responses at night on my phone. The activity here has slowed to a crawl. If this keeps up it will be time for me to find another hobby.

    Nice.
We went to the botanical gardens (actually the U of M Arboretum) a little over a week ago.
I took my EM1 planning to take garden photos. It was way too hot - we just went inside and enjoyed the air conditioning.

Thanks for stopping by, Jim .... working the gardens can get hot and very humid here after the first of June .... working the day lilies in late May shut down my M-E5 a few years ago.. the heat swelled the shutter and I had to take it into the shade to cool it off enough to continue working... I try shorter sessions in the sun these days and earlier in the season if the flower cooperate .... ..
