From Autumn 2021 but reprocessed this week in order to brighten the waterfall. Ken

Good morning, Ken! New member here also. I love the bright saturated oranges and reds that make me think of jewels strewn around the scene. For me, they and the lush greens are the perfect counterpoint to the soft pristine water.

Hi Linda, thanks for the thoughtfull comments. I was trying to surround the waterfall with elements that would give you something to see away from the water. I am unsure about the fallen tree but nothing that I could do about it. I would have loved to have been able to shoot the scene from different viewpoints but couldn't drop down the vertical 10ft into the little gully, or more truthfully could never get back up the vertical 10ft. This is a beautiful image. The log doesn't worry me at all, it becomes part of the visual line that we follow upwards from lower left corner to right upper edge, guiding us through the both the frame and the natural canyon cut by the waterfall. On the way we find the wonderful colors of the variegated fall leaves and the green mosses/ferns. You've shot for the milky look and I like it for this particular waterfall; it lends a sense of peace and tranquility that a different shutter speed would not convey. It is on the dark side. Printing might require that you make some adjustments to make sure the details in the darker areas don't block up.

Thanks for the comments minniev. It does print very well with, as you have noted, some selective lifting of deep shadows to allow a little detail to show but not the , all too common, shadows as bright as daylight look. Ken
