    Hi,

I had two of these at the time Nikon popped out the D1 and all sorts of earlier digital gear hit the used market

What was interesting was the Kodak 6 MP sensors came in both color and monochrome versions. So I had one of each in the 460.

The camera itself as well as the digital back was limiting. The following on F5 based 660 was a major improvement. And then there sensor itself was improved in the 760.

But they had to start somewhere and that was the 460.

I would have really appreciated finding a monochrome version of the 460 at a reasonable price. 😍

Enjoyable read. Many people claim CCD sensors have nicer color than cmos. Others say the color filter dyes Kodak used are better than others. You've shot lots of different cameras. Would you say the Kodaks reproduce phenomenal color?
    Thanks,

    Hi,

I can tell you that Kodak made their 6 MP CCDs mimic Kodachrome and their 2 MP Kodacolor. And Kodak images came out better when processed using their PhotoDesk software. The 16 MP medium format sensor was the same as the 6 MP. But the 40 MP one is more Portra like.

“Phenomenal” is definitely not the expression I would use! But actually I generally prefer the renderings of CCD sensors 😉
But my opinion is not the most important, This is why I make comparisons "more than 327 to date"
You can judge for yourself and form your own opinion.
