First of the New Year - A new bird and insects

    It has been a lean time finding subjects last few weeks. Today was a little better

    Never seen this bird before. Thankfully it let me get two shots before flying away. Doves here are pretty shy.

    These have larger iridescent blue areas around the white on the top of their wings.

    These guys are the cannibals of the dragonfly world. I have seen the odd dragonfly catch a smaller damselfly and larger flies but apparently the Marsh Hawk catches other dragonflies...
