I got lucky and caught two significant events two and a quarter hours apart last night with one camera. The first was probably somewhere over the Channel, and quite long lasting (5+ seconds).

The second was much closer. Close enough that I missed the start of the event because it started quite high in the sky (probably within 50 Km of my location here in Derby), but not quite high enough to be caught by one of the other cameras which was covering the sky overhead.

Sorry, still not sure how to embed!?

    Very nice!

Leo, click the Link button at the top of the thread editing screen. It is the symbol that looks like a USB-C port and sits between the minus sign button and the Photo button. Kind of looks like (-). Copy the link into the link window that displays and it will embed the Youtube video. It is anything but intuitive and took me some experimentation to discover how to do it! :)

Thanks Jack. However, that IS the icon I used, so not sure why it came out as a link, rather than embedded.

Let me see if it still works. I’m using the link from a Youtube webpage, not what the app shows.

    Video of meteor

Here is the link’s text (www.youtube.com/watch?v=cehvamvN-Ro). This often looks different if I get it from the Youtube app.

ETA: Okay it still works. I notice my link looks way different than the ones you used, so maybe that has something to do with it. Alright I just got this link from my Youtube psge and it looks different, more like your links. I will try to link it too. Here is the link from the Youtube app (youtu.be/cehvamvN-Ro7.

    2nd link attempt

Wow, both links embedded the video. Not sure why they don’t work like that with you Leo. Let me now try one of your links. Here is a Leo linked video.

    Leo’s link

Okay that shows it to be embedded in my browser (Safari on iPad). Could it be a browser issue?

Leo, I’m stumped by why it won’t work with your browser. Maybe write a message to DPRevived moderators and ask them for advice. At least on my iPad using Safari my links and your link all embedded the proper videos.

Thanks again for that Jack. I'll have another play with it when I get a chance. I must be doing something wrong, but can't see what. OK, lets try one more time now:

On another note, did you see the Schmidt camera being given away? I used to lust after one, but I think they are probably a but too obsolete now - that and there's the weight, which IIRC is at least one tonne!

Be sure to place the video link in the 2nd (lower) entry box. I messed it up once or twice before I got it to work.

Well @#$%, it took me a few minutes just to figure out how to upload this image from my MacBook Air M1! This forum software is terrible, and they really need to simplify it.

That is the way I've been trying. All it seems to do for me is to place the link in between arrows (<), rather than embedding. I think I will have to find a mod as you suggest. I still have not tried to post an image (looking forward to that!), but the image you posted should help!
