Color version has a nice natural feel but the graphic qualities of B&W grab my attention. Both are equally well done.
I feel exactly the same way! Thanks for the comment!
Interesting.
But I feel there is much too much clutter in the image. There really is no subject.
An image like this needs to be simplified down to just a very few trees, the road and the effect of the mist and light.
Just my 2c.

I was kinda thinking that the whole scene was the subject. 😁
But I get what you're saying, though -- a lot of my photos are pretty aimless. Maybe this one is more to your liking:
I'll call it "Single Tree on a Cloudy Day". If that works better, let's just chalk it up to "a broken clock is right twice a day". 😊
Great Bustard,
That's a wonderful shot of the road. It evokes all kinds of emotion... wonder, awe, mystery, dread, the thrill of the unknown.
It's great.

Wonderful shot, it drags you in itself. Mysterious, perfect tonality. Thanks for sharing
I wasn't being critical of your image. I was offering critique. There's all the difference in the world between the two. I thought critique was welcome in these fora.

Thanks both for the comments! I think with BW conversions, tonality is often important. Sometimes, it's tempting to just convert a color photo to BW because the color isn't working the way you want, but often, at least for me, the "color problem" is simply replaced with a "tonality problem", which means that I simply have more to learn when processing! Or, the photo's just lame. 😅

Hmm -- I apologize if my reply seemed to take offense to your critique. I appreciate you taking the time to comment -- just wanted to post another photo that I thought might be more to your liking to compare and contrast based on your critique. It would be like if I commented on someone's photo that I thought that the flare was distracting and they posted another similar photo without the flare asking if I liked the second photo better, or something like that.
