Long story short:
Holidays, I generally want something to go from reasonably wide (10 ish) to reasonably long (120+). Before I had fuji, I had (still got) an 11-22 and an 18-150. Two bodies and I was ready and didn't have to worry about changing lenses in the field.
Fast Forward to today. I've got the 10-24, the 16-80 and the 70-300. Which is lovely but that's 3 lenses and I've only got two bodies. So, looking around and chatting, I've been "taken" BY THE 18-135. Not heavy and reasonably OK quality, especially for holidays. So, I was able to try one out (thank you Fuji UK) and decided I would see what I could get.
List price in the UK is £799. I'm not paying that. Currys (a UK electrical distributer) had one for £549. But then I looked at the second hand market and MPB had one that they said was in excellent condition for £429. So, nearly half of the list price. Seemed a worthwile punt.
So, I did and it arrived on Tuesday. In the evening I went out with it as my only lens to see how I got on with it. And it's not bad. Quality is OK, it fades off at the corners, but I was expecting that. And, of course, the 40mp sensor in my X-T5 shows up the worst of a lens. But for what I bought it for, I think it's OK.
Here's a few pictures from it. All reduced in size, so I don't take up too much space on here.
