    What about Alaska? Isn't that part of the USA but North of Canada? Or is my map knowledge deficient.

    If you're in the northeast corner of Tennessee, you're closer to Canada than Memphis, TN.

    Most likely Canada is East of Alaska

    Alaska is also the eastern-most state in the union. Doesn't that make it east of Canada?
