Congrats for the new camera. It is a wonderful camera, I dont know how much you paid but you can get a very clean one less than £400 nowadays.

Thanks. The 2nd hand prices here had been holding a bit higher than that. This one was a little lower. Our market is smaller so prices tend to hold up for longer.

I sold mine £385 to Park Cameras when I bought my S5II, I still have GM5, GF7 but I think I will get a 20MP with IBIS eventually again. If Pana releases new G100 with new sensor and IBIS, I can consider to sell my GM5.

A lot of people seem to like the smaller m43 bodies and fair enough. Perhaps it's because I started with an FZ300 which has a bit of weight with the fixed lens; I felt the G7 very light and almost flimsy (a bit too plasticy). The G9 feels more solid, and is about the same as the FZ300 in weight. I feel that a bit of weight adds some inertia and helps dampen small muscle movements - especially as I will be mostly using a longer lens.
There are a lot who are wishing for a new smaller Lumix m43 body. There is some doubt as to whether it will ever happen, but given the tech seems to have plateaued some what, one last iteration could round out the format for a long time.

I think that if you are using a long lens like the 100-400, a weightier body probably gives a better user sensation, compared to lighter bodies. Certainly I like the heft of my D850 compared to my lighter Z bodies. Everything feels just so much more solid.

For M43 format, I like the LX100 as a lightweight street camera with a wide to short telephoto lens,

You have put your new lens to great use BTW.
