Just saw this.
Sorry…link
Good news, indeed.
This is great news. The archive will be a great resource for the global photography community.
Great news if the archive is easily accessible, not just on the Wayback Machine. Thank you Scott Everett and Amazon !!!!

Dear readers,
We’ve received a lot of questions about what's next for the site. We hear your concerns about losing the content that has been carefully curated over the years, and want to assure you that the content will remain available as an archive.
We’ve also heard that you need more time to access the site, so we’re going to keep publishing some more stories while we work on archiving.
Thank you to this community and the support you’ve shown us over the years.

“We’ve also heard that you need more time to access the site, so we’re going to keep publishing some more stories while we work on archiving.“
All that paragraph is kind of ambiguous. Who need more time to access the site? So it won't be closed the 10th after all?
It is. My guess: read-only, request for copy of data (where they have an enormous backlog) still possible.
Or maybe just the DPR generated content accessible, not the forum
Interesting that the big blue “closing April 10th” banner has gone too. Presumably that date has shifted?
Good. I'm still not buying anything from their crumbling storefront ever again.
Still a bit ambiguous about what form this archive will take… whether it’ll just be a frozen version of the site (which would still be using the underlying databases and infrastructure), or a static export of the site, or some downloadable data dump…
If they just lock the site as-is, it’s still likely to need some ongoing staffing, at least in a reduced capacity to keep certain parts operational, server software updated for security patches etc.
I wonder whether this suggests that Amazon are still negotiating with a buyer and they want to keep a bit more life in the site whilst this is happening?
I think the forums will be locked and the content will remain searchable.
