I think that it looks good as it is, on my desktop computer.
Less scrolling down.Reading from left to right begins at a very young age. lol

I think the block formatting of the forum titles within each section needs to be in a standard vertical list format ...as I can autopilot scroll to correct locations quicker than experimental-click-open collapsed/hidden forums.
Plus in terms of the list of threads in a forum, needs to have the name of who started the thread!..
