This is one of the views from the Great Wall Of China at Badaling (about a 1hr drive from Beijing ) with it snaking off into the distance.
The final image is a 7 shot stitched panorama. As always, comments and feedback welcome 🙂
I like it, particularly the different layers of mountains and how the wall repeatedly appears in the background. I feel like the composition and format work pretty well.
Because I've seen several samples which show, that you don't mind altering colors to create a certain look or feeling, I'd personally recommend trying to emphasize the layers a bit more and gettting a little bit more detail out of what's visible of the wall. Here's my attempt, trying to do that and adding a clearer warm/cold dynamic:
(it would clearly need some more work in a couple of areas of course)
I went there with my little 2MP point & shoot a few years back :) Could not believe the extreme terrain they managed to build the wall over, and the human cost involved. Nearly caused civil war, in the later stages they allowed wives & family to move onto/close to the construction sites, to stop the revolt. You can still see some of the fruit trees they planted in some spots apparently. Fascinating place to visit. Oh yeah, a picky
Thank you simplejoy 🙂
Separating the 3 mountain layers is what I did to some extent in the original as well.
Thank you for posting your version. On my screen it is a little over the top for my taste though.
I applied some dodge and burn to the first mountain layer to differentiate it a bit more from the second. On my screen this is about as much differentiation I could live with.
