It’s good to see an ‘old hand’ on board Hans! We can look forward to some interesting historical locations.
Several great composers come to mind here – perhaps a view of the south wall?

Yes, we see the south wall of the church. Cropped out on the left is a statue of a composer who was employed here as cantor with the obligation to compose a cantata for each sunday and feast day of the ecclesiastical year.

Well, I think that puts us Bach :) in Leipzig, looking at the south side of Thomaskirche.

Free turn if correct, please. I'm still in the middle of the Hell-on-Earth that is grandchildren minding during school holidays.

OK, I'll bite. Nothing fancy, shot from the window of a moving car, but I thought it was pretty unique: Anyone who lives nearby will surely guess it...

    Apologies.

My photo was taken in 2012 and it appears that the structure depicted has been removed.

Let's try the following photo which is part of the same installation.

Is it the Maryvale, Vic paper plant?

    Bryan

So sorry; I have been busy these last few days. The spot I posted is in the Mojave National Preserve, in the Mid Hills, a few miles north of Mid Hills Campground, looking northwest into the Ivanpah Valley; the road is Ceder Canyon Road. I thought this was going under your reply to my post, it seems to be out of order.

    It happens,

I see it now in Google Earth. Things have changed a fair bit. A lot more sand in the distance to the right of the dark range and that small peak right mid distance has lost his pointy top.

No it's not a paper plant and it's not in Victoria - but it's just across the border, more or less.

Good to see you here and nice choice of photo Brian - now we have a Brian and a Bryan.
In this instance could east be a bit wet, so maybe south of the town?
