I’m not sure where to ask this, so I’ve posted in several places…

I have a CV 50mm APO Lanthar Leica VM mount. I bought a Metabones adaptor to allow me to use it on my Fuji. It seemed a bit stiff when I fitted it, but now I want to remove it and it seems tightly jammed on the lens. Now the question - if I hold the lens in my left hand, adaptor upwards, do I need to turn the adaptor clockwise or anti-clockwise to remove it?

I don’t have a Metabones brand adapter, but I do use my M-Mount Summicron 35 on a Fuji X-Mount camera. (My adapter is an inexpensive Fotasy.)

If I'm holding the lens, face down in my left hand, I turn the adaptor counter-clockwise (after pressing the release button on the adapter) to remove it from the lens.

Thank you. I didn’t want to apply too much persuasion until I was certain which way I needed to twist it. After some struggles, I’ve now got the thing off and I’m not sure that I’ll use it again…

My recollection is that my adapter was initially stiff too. The connection has improved over time. Of course, I’d expect better from Metabones, but it’s probably worth giving it another go. Any harm has already been inflicted.
