I started out with an error, adding my first post to Labe's "thank you" post. Meant it to be on the main thread.

I hope to make this my main home. A gift from my wife got me hooked on "bridge" cameras. I hope since the thread name indicates, "bridge camera talk", this will have positive discussions rather than just another bashing of small sensor size. I would really like to see and hear everyone's experiences and examples of their different bridge camera makes.

Most of my files have been PPd in Photoshop and Topaz denoise, just like everyone does with the expensive gear. I think all the new processing programs are a lot of what helps make bridge cameras useful. Here's a couple shots I like. I welcome (constructive) criticism and comments.

If you click on the full size links, the pics look really nice. Much better than the thumbnail previews.

Are you saving raw files from the camera ?

Hmm....I had to go look. I don't as a habit. Looking at my files, maybe 5% were originally raw. The S1 has a 1/2.3 sensor and I often use digital zoom, both of which are generally considered to be negative. But the digital zoom doesn't work in raw. In post a raw file zoomed in looks very similar to the jpeg using digital zoom. The advantage of the digital zoom is viewing your shot up close on the LCD or small viewfinder.
