Photography clubs are okay… but a lot of the members don't bathe regularly !

When I was a teenager , we were in the pub talking face to face , playing pool and getting drunk .
There weren't really personal computers then , maybe some such as Atari and Comador 64's to play games on ..
To be fair , not a lots changed thirty five years later , but the never replaced the pool table after it fell through the floor . 😕

The poll on dpreview gave me the idea to start a similar poll here out of curiosity.

I suspect most of the members here atm are from dpreview so I suspect the results of the 2 polls will be similar.

For privacy reasons I chose to not make the voting public as it would most likely discourage some members from choosing the appropriate option, if any.

Only moderators and admin can see who actually voted where. Everyone else, including me as poll creator, can see only the tallies for each option.

I did that deliberately.

I suspect that the vast majority of members here are 50+ years of age so I thought that smaller bin sizes for the older age groups might provide more meaningful information. They can still be manually grouped in bin sizes to suit at any time.

I am 37 years old, but I bought Olympus C-7070, my first camera, when I was 19, so my real age is 18.

I'd like to remind you that the oldest millennials are now in their 40s. Youngest are pushing 30.

The real challenge is to hook in the Gen Zs.

With only about 75 votes in around 2/3 as a percentage are aged between 50 and 70.

This reflects the probability that "advanced photography" is relatively expensive, requires a considerable amount of time - and younger people are often very busy bringing up the family, paying off the mortgage et cetera.

Of course, young crowd spends lots of time online interacting with other people via Twitch or other gaming outlets, but not in these types of written-only forums.
