It was suggested I do a post on this to help others using Flickr to upload their images to a post. So here it is:

    1. Go to Image on Flickr Gallery and click Share photo icon (bottom right)

    1. Select BBcode option (far right) and your choice of size from the drop down menu below

Copy the highlighted blue text code (See above)

Paste this code straight into your post on DPR wherever you want the picture to show (you can click the preview button to check how the post will look before clicking edit to return to the text view so you can post)

and hopefully it should come out as below:

hope this of use to anyone struggling with sharing from Flickr.

This method is just forFlickr, as it's using the embed code option from Flickr, but I'm sure other sites will possibly have the same feature to share photos.

The upload picture button (far right arrow in box at top when you're posting) let's you upload any image <4mb from your computer, and once its uploaded you can click the option next to the file to embed the photo into your post.

The image button (6th icon with mountains from the left) lets you share a photo from a link too, but I've not tried that one yet.

4mb is a higher size limit than most photographic forums, but for those who don't spend as much time on multiple forums as I do it might be useful to point out just about any image editing package will allow resizing of images - 1000 pixels on the largest side is enough to show the composition of an image & will pretty much fill the screen of many monitors so will usually be good enough for sharing. If you prefer to share a higher resolution version for 4k/8k monitors subtly turning up the jpeg compression should allow even these to fit within 4mb. I usually keep my jpg quality at 95 to 100% but even 80% rarely causes noticeable issues & can drastically reduce file sizes.

Dr review sure made it easier. I see this as a non photo sharing site the way it is. Unless I shoot tiny jpegs it’s just not worth the effort.

How "big" does it have to be for you to be happy with posting your pictures? Is it an X by Y issue (length by width) or a Mb size issue?

Another question to ignore - what is a "tiny jpeg" ?

Tiny? You can put up a fairly high rez photo that could generate a good size print. Don’t need much more to get an idea across in a post

Photos are always displayed as thumbnails 500 pixels wide or 500 pixels tall no matter what size you upload or direct link to. For example, the photo in the OP is 2048x1365px but displayed at 750x500px. The post is around 1140px wide, so there is a lot of blank space on both the left and right size of the thumbnail.
