    Hi,

    Panasonic GX85
    In NY, USA.

I feared that it was eventually going happen. I've used the camera almost every day for a few years and I always looked at that little cap as something that was eventually going to break. And I don't even know how it happen... I was on a trail and I just happened to notice that it was missing most of that part...

Does anybody know if this something that can be repaired at home? Because it is not worthy to take the camera to any repair shop or send it to the official one in Florida as the cost will be almost the cost of another body in eBay.

For the moment I have a rubber band to avoid losing batteries...
spoiler alert... I ALREADY lost one battery this afternoon...

    Thanks,
    Regards,
    Fran

A grip or a protective case might do the trick

Here's a video on replacing the battery door -- www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDMIWMtunVc

That's an easy fix: no ribbon cables to disconnect, no soldering, just some screws and a pin to remove and then relace.
