I Can't Find My Alerts

I'm obviously missing something that should be very simple because even though in my settings I have subscriptions turned on for both the threads I start and threads I reply in I cannot for the life of me find where these alerts appear.

People have replied to threads I have started and participated in but I haven't seen any alerts anywhere.

Can somebody please point me in the right direction? :-)

As part of that, you're probably already aware that email notifications don't seem to be working at present.

If they aren't already on it, you might add email notifications to a list of things to follow up (in the scheme of things, probably less urgent than a dozen or more other things...).

No problem. It's not urgent but in the fullness of time it would be nice to have :-)

Click Threads in the top menu. On that page click the button labeled All Threads and change to Subscribed Threads and you'll get this.

The time in the last column is clickable and takes you to the first unread post.

Thanks meow. That's a usable workaround until the alerts feature is fully implemented.

Yes. I thought the Threads page was just a confusing mess until I found that second button. I've probably overlooked features like this at other forums with a similar approach.

You also have lists of your threads and posts in you profile.

Ok thanks meow, that's handy :-) but the alerts functionality and notifications on dpreview was really nice imo. Hopefully in the fullness of time here as well. I get by easily enough as it is here though.

Yes, and my personal preference is a vertical listing for the categories and the forums within them. One thing I notice on the phone though, is that I cannot edit posts, two fix typos or whatever, after I have submitted the post.....ie.....I don't see an edit button anywhere like I do on the desktop.

If you click this downward arrow button at the top of your post, you should see a couple of options appear at the bottom of the page - one for a permanent link, and the other for editing.

Ahhhhh......there it is. Thank you Threaded. But another thing I notice now is that we can edit posts even after someone has quoted it in their reply.
On dpreview you couldn't edit posts after they were replied to.
I'm not sure if allowing posts to be edited after being replied to is a good idea......hmmmmmm.....have to think about that one (scratching head)

Conversely, here when a post is edited (even if it's edited immediately after posting) text appears at the top saying it has been edited and how many times. Whereas edited posts at dpreview weren't flagged as such.

On the whole, I think I prefer the system the way it worked at dpreview. Or maybe I'd prefer a mix of the two methods, where the post is only marked as edited if you edit it after it's been replied to...
