    I have a Canon T8i.
On page 200 of my manual, there is this Caution'

    1) Does this apply to Servo as well, or just One Shot?
    2) What does this do for Focus and Recompose?
    3) I have an AE lock button. Does this override the AE lock button if I am in Partial, Spot or Center Weightd Average metering?
    4) Do I have to wait until after I have taken the shot to see if the exposure is different than what was showing up in my viewfinder or on the LCD screen in Live View?
    5) I use the AF-On buttton In BBF. Does this Caution apply then as well?

The simplest way to answer that is for you to have a play with your camera and try it .

You'll have the answer in a matter of minutes.

For metering, pick a target in constant, even light , so when you recompose it's clear to see if the readings change.

    Neil,

Thanks. I did that after I posted my questions.

I tried it out on a couple of shots, and in the various meterings (partial, center-weighted, etc), the readings after I took my shots didn't change.from what was showing up in the viewfinder prior to pressing the shutter button.

I'm going to continue to explore.
PS: I use Servo and back button focus about 99.5% of the time. I'll have to try it out in One Shot and see if it makes a difference.

Thanks for taking the time to respond.
