Five vaccines done ... Covid Gen4 got me by the end of June 2024. 3 days coma.
Damaged heavily, but still battling with my '80 body.
Vaccines saved me from worse damages.
But 8 months are still left before ID ageing 70.

Now I'm shooting two bodies each with a different zoom.
No more changing lenses for a different range while shooting.
That was an improvement, I was dreaming of from Film's era.
Welcome back. May I make a suggestion?
Your Covid experience is terrifying. Very glad to hear you are back. The Covid details are concerning to me because where I'm working at the moment has a covid outbreak.
The suggestion. It's difficult to do your photos justice when you make a post with so many shots. I think you will get better discussion by posting one at a time to whatever thread looks to be relevant to the subject. Thinking about an image takes time. You will also get more focused discussion of an image and a broader range of thoughts if just one shot is up for discussion at a time.
I have to go now. I'll talk about the images later today.
I took those images to be a collection which represents a return to photography following disability due to Covid - rather than looking for discussion on each image separately.
Are posts with more than one shot actually frowned upon by Admin. on this site? - or is the suggestion just based on personal opinion?
I certainly don't speak for the admin. It's a personal opinion. When shots are posted, or I post shots, I'm interested in the opinions. It isn't any sort of question of right or wrong. We all bring different responses that grow from our unique experiences in all the arts. Looking at how different images result in different responses and then looking at how the image has done this, is a large part of the pleasure I get from images.
The point I'm making is that I'd rather get a discussion, a series of considered responses and perhaps some backwards and forwarding, than have some brief "wow that's good kind of responses. It's what I like about our The Photo site. The internet is full of photo sites with comments like that. On The Photo, there are a number of contributors who look closer. It's what makes us worth belonging to.
It's time consuming. That kind of response takes some thought and work. Dealing adequately with a whole batch of shots takes up too much time and doesn't do justice to the images.
It's why I like the Weekly Thread format. It encourages an exchange of views around each image in a manageable way. If it was technically possible to have threaded rather than flat forum view on the site, the exchanges would be better and more inclusive of a range of views. Flat view encourages responses back and forth between the OP and individual posters.
Back to where we started. It's my response to the OP. I'd rather see some deeper conversation on a single image and then some more discussion on another image next week than a random responses to a number of images. Alain may not see it in the same way. Fair enough.
Well, six different pics just to show I'm still able to shoot "after", and that was not so discounted 🤷
Everybody can shoot. Even a Cellphone is a great camera body.
But to keep your way to generate images is not easy, as that can be lost easily.
What reconforted me was the ability to shoot again my "telling" images.
The first after the Covid was: "Winter is coming".
It took me 30 minutes, 170-220 shots under rain, but when at PC [fast scrolling all of them in shooting order] I came to it ... it was a sudden emotion: "I'm still able to shoot my way ahead". I was already ready to sell all my gear.
Not one of my best pics, but important to me!!!
( I bought an X14T PRO with Leica lenses as my third body )
Thanks, happy I am you liked them !!!
Yes, exact!
You saw them correctly !!!
Thanks
Well, you got exactly the point: "survived" !!!
Thanks for the compliment, let to be sure....
...more are coming 😇
About posting series of images - I think this is not a problem, at least not in general image threads. On C&C section it would be different - comments and critique is often image-based.
Welcome back, Alain! Keep taking and posting your excellent photos. I have myself found it to be good therapy: it gets me out of the house and provides the exercise that I need.
I must be unusual. Before I got covid, I'd broken my nose in my youth and smelling things was muted. Got covid and lost sense of taste & smell. Recovered and smelling and tasting was wonderful - much better than before. Even now, I delight in the smell of soap when I wash my hands.
Welcome back Alain, keep posting and we will keep enjoying.
Welcome home and glad you're mending. I understand your plight, as I live every day with limitations from a heart condition caused by covid.
Those are really nice images you've shared, from a technical as well as artistic perspective. I look forward to your ongoing offerings. Keep up the good fight!
That's an important photo for me, with the worst gear I had to shoot [Kenko TC1.4], in the worst weather and conditions for me at that time.
A huge success against Fate ☂ ... thanks for your appreciation!!!
Well, yes, Taste and Smell...
they can never come back for the majority who lost them.
I'm in a worse situation:
I loved smelling; it was my 4D sensation.
I loved cooking; at a superior level.
After 20day home, by surprise I re-discovered that chocolate was feeling something ☺
then everyday, something new was appearing ... 'till Sept 30. That day I had back 80% capacity.
What a wonderfull day traveling with my son...
we went to see a used Tesla, 400km away, my son drove, and with good food in a fantastic restaurant.
[I've bought that Tesla - at least some joy from that day]
Now, after that single fantastic day ... quite quickly everything disappeared again.
And I cannot feel anything, not even salt or sugar or hot stuff anymore.
Everything is gray. I completely lost the joy of "technically cooking" anything.
Even if everybody says it's the same level as before... I have no proof !!!
... nor a way to check subtle variations.
That's the Worst Part of the story: If I had never felt anything, I Would Not Suffer so much nowadays for that missing part of my life, and kept cooking happily !
Now the main staples come in a can.
I'm at 5 heart surgeries in 12 years, that's not the main issue. I have three other issues that collide inside... Blood/Veins are the most painful, the other plank me in my bed too often, not being able to walk. If I can move out of prison, it's a splendid day !!! 😂
It's now 15 days since ... raising the camera for more than 3 minutes is becoming painful .
I hope to recover at least that one 🤷
Thanks for your kind words, one of the best compliments I received lately !!!!
I'm looking you!
Xiaomi 14T Pro 65Mp - Tele 8x ; no Macro - Edited inside the phone
Please note the car's rearview on the center 😂
This photo exceeded the scope of its creation !!
( That photo exists... because without spectacles I could not focus enough to see what had fallen in my eye )
