Generally I'm very happy with goods sold through AliExpress. But sometimes they need rework. This is the SCD40 module (SCD4x are Sensirion CO2 sensors) I just received.

Bottom side, conformal coating, Kapton tape, or something else needs to be applied:

    Top side, resistor needs rework:

Not a big deal, but this sensor can be easily poisoned by fumes.

Plug-in Kidde carbon monoxide detectors are not expensive… and the battery models last for years.
If it’s not an impertinent question, what is your application for this miniature module.?

    Performix Liquid Electrical Tape.

I need a CO2, not a CO sensor, to monitor a few heaters not leaking through flew pipes.

Liquid tape isn't suitable, it will poison the sensor.

    Oh… okay.

I just looked at Mouser and the Amphenol CO2 sensors are (bloody) expensive !

Don’t use any conformal coating, I know that there is a Low VOC type, but I've never used it.
and if it’s that super sensitive you better mask it off somehow before soldering.

    CrashpcCZ and IliahBorg like this.

All done already, testing the sensor side by side with 2 others from a different batch ;)
