    Hey Guys,
How important is an internal cooling fan? Do most higher end strobes have it? Should I avoid strobes without it?
    Thank you

new PCB Celestial ( well - it is not 2400ws with megawatt modeling light one and does not cost you a kidney but still PCB might be called "higher end" ) does not ... not that it is a good idea though - better to have one and also have an option to switch it off if you are in a place where no noise is a must

I do not like fans in anything.

If I had to choose between two equipments, one with a fan & one without a fan but otherwise similar ...

Fans can be noisy as pointed out above.

Terry: will you be grinding out 800 pops per 3 hour session? If so, then a fan might be useful. I have a feeling based on your previous posts that you are more likely to be using your strobes in a much less intensive way. I doubt that the lack of a fan will cause you any bother and, frankly, since there will be silence, lack of a fan might actually be a benefit.

I don’t know if the celestial has a fan or not. I’ll trust the poster above that it doesn’t. The Einstein does have a fan and I did find it a bit intrusive at times. Alien Bees have a fan as well but I recall them being quieter than the Einstein. I don’t recall the white lightning specs.
