    "The Good News...
    ...they never come alone."

Taking the Z30 back into my hands after three months,
I remembered that I found the last photos made with 18-140Z very strange, unusually bad.
Being my main lens, beating the direct competition of the Zf + 24-200Z in the same bag,
I consider it a big nuisance!!

In June I contacted NiTal [Nikon Italy] who refused to even touch it, because he has French S/N and not sold in Italy.
Oh, yes ... it was a gift by my French cousins 🙄

So Tuesday it was not toooo late to react, just a little bit... 'cause I will have to shoot an event this week-end Tuesday.

Phoned to a friendly repair lab and run immediatly to them.

    After carefully examining my Zoom
gave me a good new: THE LENS IS NOT BROKEN !!!!

    Y E A H ! ! !

The lens is not broken, hold on ...
    yes?
A group of lenses are only decentered and has to be recentered, while at the same time it's also better to check the AF motor.

No, we cannot do it for you. We apologize, but we cannot perform the alignment as we have not leased the Nikon software.

Grandini Nikon repair shop has acquired a new order.
It's known that usually it assesses the damage in less...
    ... then two months,
and usually the repair comes back before...
    ... 6 months.

(My Z30 and I hope to see it again next year)

PS: In the meantime, the 24-200mmE range passes to the ZF,
and the Z30 does wide angles 10-20Dx as before,
but also portraits TTa 75mmF2.Z and short telephotos AF-P 70-300E
    🤷

About the Photo ... I tested here Google translate for > The Lodge The Church <

Sorry you are having difficulty with the lens. Hope the repair people quickly restore it to optimum performance. At least you have other equipment to shoot. I'm surprised they are so picky about Italy vs France. Thought being in the EU would cover it.
Your photo is well done. Good job.

Have you tried with Nikon Europe?

It is true Nital/LTR will not touch non Nital gear, but they give the names of 3 repair companies.

In Italy it is pretty vital to buy Nikon/Nital as if shit happens, you can get things repaired. LTR are top notch for repairs, from my experience.

In the rest of Europe Nikon is distributed by Nikon Europe. In Italy Nital are the distributors, and are a separate company. Do not ask me why. but it seems to suit Nikon that way. You pay a little more for Nital/Nikon, but the aftersales service is good. Nikon repaired my D850 and a 24-200 that had a fall within a week. Some shops import grey stuff from Germany, at a discount. But if things go wrong, you are in trouble. Nital/Nikon sells at a premium here for SH gear.
