What do you use to create your B&W? Or rather how do you do it? I've given up. I don't have anything Adobe. I've mostly tried with curves and coloured filters for the conversion (to accentuate or hold back some tones).

Thanks rich its been a very wet afternoon here , saying that it was a beautiful morning I was able to get out and do 26 miles on the bike before the rain started plan to go out tomorrow morning with the camera see what I get 🙂Paul

Thanks Charlotte glad u liked it to be honest I couldn't tell u how I processed it no set formula I just play about with it in Snapseed until I like what I see .
As I told Rich I plan to go out tomorrow with landscape in mind But I will also be on the lookout for a TIT for u 😀Paul

No I do it on my iPad Snapseed is a free and very good program easy to use Its what I use for all my photography ..

Hmm. It even handles raw, I read. I don't have a tablet, so can't try it.

Nice, Paul ... Horizontal with the Rock in the left corner!!... I spent more time with the vertical and have looked back even today ... still thinking about it ... I do like monochrome ... I grew up with photography reading and looking at the pictures of Ansel Adams ... and I always wanted to be a landscape photographer but I lived in and near Chicago and I find that my inclinations are not landscape .. even when the opportunity arises.... and also decided I could never afford to be a photographer! ...

Thanks WN I am starting to like monochrome /more and more so much so I have set my camera up for Raw and JPEG monochrome so I have both I see pentax have just released a K3 III monochrome camera 🙂

I noticed that too .. I generally have my smaller cameras -- M10 & M5 set for monochrome so I can see it that way through the EVF. From Color I can convert with NIK Silver Efex (which will emulate file types) or Topaz B&W ( no longer available) so not sure what those monochrome cameras can offer ... Both the cameras and the current printers get usable B&W these days ... it took a while ... I use to buy B&W film in 100 foot roles back in the film days .. and really still don't understand color ..

Keep at it these last pictures are great ... ( as thought you need encouragement .. better let's find a table, drink some coffee and compare results!!!)
