I know it's not the latest and greatest, but a 1" sensor and a reasonable zoom seem to be worth it for the price (£399 from Currys).
Here's one of the first shots I took today. No mods - just A mode (F5.6).
Quite sharp detail when viewed at 100%.
Re your other thread, on my FZ300 the pinpoint AF display setting is right under the pip time setting. Maybe the TZ100 doesn't have that setting?
It appears I can only set the time to 'long', 'standard' or 'short'. There is no 'off'. Underneath that is 'Pinpoint AF Display'. Choices are 'PIP' or 'Full'. That's it.
Very disappointing.

Did you try full? That was my default setting until recently when I turned on pip for manual focus
Yes, I tried that - it's worse. It seems to go full screen zoom, then not, then back to zoom and then off. Very distracting.

Oh yes, sorry about that, I was wrong. When I went to manual focus, it was the short time that bothered me, was never at Full. Weird thing is I never even noticed it in AF...
How about the other AF modes? Due to the auto magnification of Pin Point Focus mode, I never use it on my Panny cameras.
The purpose of Pin Point Focus is to allow shooter having a chance to check on the focusing condition in greater detail. So only PIP or Full (screen) is avaliable.
Indeed, why not use Single Focus mode, set it to smallest size, which can already nail focus very accurately. It could be the closest to Pin Point Focus.
