Kidney spot ladybird

Adult Green Shield bug, with its strongly contrasting brown darker area at the rear.
This one, also photographed with the Canon M6MkII, was basking in the sun on the lid of the gardening recycling bin. It was a multiple depth compositing exposure processed with DPP, and hence lacks exif data. Sorry about that.
I posted this along with yours James, to show how amazing these tiny creatures, scarcely 10mm in size, have armoury like a tank; although the Green Shield Bug is very much a harmless little critter, I am not so sure that can be said for your ladybird. 😉

mine was a single image with the m6ii, I haven’t got the lights yet for stacking bugs, but flash for one pic works well. I’ll have to try again this summer

Oh wow. Once again, a fabulous result with the grasshopper.
I’ll return another focus bracketing effort of the Mullein Moth Caterpillar that I spied on the Buddleia. Prior to the M6MkII, I had the M6. It was because of the stacking feature of the M6MkII, that I made the purchase. This shot was stacked in ‘CombineZP’ (free) before I learned that DPP had the capability.
I like it this place. It’s a bit like DPReview, only better. 😊

Ow wow indeed, that’s a great looking caterpillar pic, so many details, how was that lit ?

All the caterpillars I tend to see are either green, small and white, or brown and hairy, and not that photogenic

On the moth theme another pic, I’ve no idea which kind, it’s a small dpp stack from last autumn. I do rather like this moth so I hope to see a few more this year

I’ve tried dpp vs helicon vs zerine, I just preferred helicon but I don’t use it often enough to pay for it. In the dpp macro forum there is a new stacker being developed called focus fusion, I’ve been playing with that and it’s getting better with each iteration
