Adult Green Shield bug, with its strongly contrasting brown darker area at the rear.
This one, also photographed with the Canon M6MkII, was basking in the sun on the lid of the gardening recycling bin. It was a multiple depth compositing exposure processed with DPP, and hence lacks exif data. Sorry about that.
I posted this along with yours James, to show how amazing these tiny creatures, scarcely 10mm in size, have armoury like a tank; although the Green Shield Bug is very much a harmless little critter, I am not so sure that can be said for your ladybird. 😉
