I thought I'd start a new thread about the landing site.
Today, I've added a new logo - thanks go to Simplejoy for his idea. I've also slightly reworded the "home" and "About Us" page descriptions. See if you can see the differences?
If we want to advertise this to new people, I think promoting "thephoto.uk" is probably the best for now.

Cannot see it on my iPad or on my mac using Chrome browser using your link. Can see it on both using the link David provided.
Here's what I see when I try to access your (Alan's) link on my computer.
Main monitor: Dell P2723QE, 3840x2160 (recommended), scaled to 150% (recommended) [logo 1.2" wide]
It's still on the edge of legibility on my other monitors. [Logo 1.3" wide]
1920 x 1080, scaled 100% (both also Windows recommended settings)

That's simply because Alan omitted www at the beginning.
Yes he did. May be confusing to others trying to follow.
It's because there is no SSL certificate for thephoto.uk - if you put "http://" beforehand, all will be well (and there is a certificate at the landing site).
As for the small logo font. I'll see what I can do to fix it.

Also if anyone clicked first link, then it by accident includes quotation mark (thephoto.uk"), which generates error (" is seen on last screeshots).

I've also tried to create a kind of landing page which would already be able to feature all types of content and also work in the same or similar way for other categories like Resources, Competitions etc.
There's certainly still lots more to fine-tune here in terms of UI, colors etc... so please view it as a quick draft only.
I find the general idea @AlanSh proposed for the resources great:
Add a link (regardless if external or internal, to a blog post etc.) and also a forum discussion to tie it back in and make it clear it's more than a content-aggregate site. The boxes could also be used to highlight relevant forum topics, perhaps even things like anniversaries of interesting historical photographic events (invention of the Cooke Triplet or the well-presented historic photo gear stuff @Maoby creates) as well as relevant photographers, exhibitions etc.
I like that. Let me have a play over the next few days (I have other things to do in my life, this may take some time).

I like this design very much. The neutral grey background is excellent also.
This is an excellent idea. If the events were in a database, the display could be automated. I would suggest "This Week's Anniversaries", or some such.
