My workhorse lens broke a leg and no longer auto-focuses correctly. I contacted the manufacturer, and it sounds like their solution is to sell me something - no warranty and whatnot cause it was bought used. :( I'd like to explore repair options if possible, but Google is now little more than a minefield of ads and I don't know who to trust. Can anyone recommend a service in the US? The lens is m4/3 for what it's worth.

It doesn't say much for a company who would put their name on a lens and not have a recommended repair facility for it, warranty or no. Google can be pretty silly, but you ought to be able to get a list of repair facilities, then check out the reviews to choose one that will hopefully treat you fairly. I last had a lens repaired over 40 years ago, so cannot personally recommend anyone now - hopes this helps!

I am also a m43 user. What lens is it ? I know some folk have had issues with the Panasonic 100-400mm and Panasonic "fix" was indeed to sell you something. Damn annoying , there are still a couple of independent repair companies here in Scotland though last time I popped in a lot of the staff were heading for retirement. Replace rather than fix sadly seems to be a common mantra

Panasonic 12-35mm. According to one person, it's a glue issue that's apparently not easily fixed.

Haven't used mine in a while either.
There being three models: original, II, and "Leica", I'm hoping his model is not the "II" but Sod's Law says that it is ...
