Thankfully the old site is unreachable. Now we can concentrate on growing this forum!
I wonder how they are going to handle access to the threads - as they said - so we can at the most access the the information that remains so valuable.

dpreview is still accessible for me.
I can still access it
Alan
I too can still access DPReview.
The rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated.
Apparently, DPR is enjoying a healthy afterlife. Still up and running.

Still running. Makes me wonder how long it takes to archive a site.
The only change in functionality I've noticed is that I can no longer click on the "original size" link below a photo to view it full-size in a new window. That's been down a few days.
Hmmmm…..well, it’s dead to me! See ya dpreview…can’t wait to only visit the carcass to obtain informative threads and responses. :-)
Think of it less like putting a copy of a newspaper in a library, and more like shutting down a factory, but still keeping part of it running, and turning it into a museum. You still have to maintain security, prevent access to things that were previously accessible, and support compliance with various laws like the California Consumer Privacy Act.
You know a lot of people contributed time and effort to that site for a long time. So you might want to consider that as you dance on its grave.
And it’s now back! Holy cow. Alive I say. Perhaps the inability to access earlier today was due to geography? I’m glad. I mourn the future loss of all that knowledge.
Hi,
I'm still a bit active over there. It does, at times, take forever to respond. But it always does respond after a bit of waiting. I am only checking it 2x per day and only that often as I'm in a couple still-active threads.
It's rather like the old Monty Python 'Bring Out Your Dead' scene. I think we are at the point of the guy on Cleese's shoulder saying 'I'm Not Dead'. And we are waiting for the part when Idle whacks him (us) on the head. :P
