It's easy enough to save a bookmark to any page as your route for getting in.
On the old DPR I rarely looked at either categories or threads listings.
Sure, but you have to notice it in the first place - people who see a homepage with all of the threads ungrouped might not take the time to explore and just bounce.
I agree. There might be an easy way to do it, and if I can I will. It might require taking the system down for a few minutes.
Hi there, just joined... I looked in yesterday, and ran away. The initial look was a bit 'WTF?', what with the mix of all the posts from different categories.
But I came back just now. With DPReview, I stuck to about four main regular fora, and dipped into a few others. It seems the majority of users just took part in one or two fora. I second Shmoopix's proposal.

I agree, and suggested this in another post too. Admin and team are very active here, so I'm sure this will be implemented soon.
Thank you all for the great work.

My DPR tab on FireFox home page is connected to the only Forum of chronic interest to me - the Sigma Camera forum.
Hmmm ... nested quotes ... yummy, Bob!
Ted.

A quick fix is just to make DPRevived.com/categories your URL - that goes straight there. I think it's pretty trivial for me to change - I just don't want to do anything right now that I don't understand and might disrupt things.

100% agree. l-cameraforum, fmiranda, and basically most forums show the categories first, not all posts.

It's a non-issue for the people who are already aware of the groups existing, it's only meaningful to casual newcomers.
That seems to have happened now.
But, some categories are in exploded view, while others are not, and that seems very unorganised.
PLS, NO exploded categories!

Yes, that was Alan's idea and he half did it because flattening the later lists didn't seem to make much sense - but we've worked out a sensible scheme. He's going to do some more work on it tomorrow.

BobN2 - it is not about how-to ... it all about the first impression somebody gets while visiting ... it is either a mess a-la landing page of discuss.pixls.us/ or neat & structured forum view that most phpBB forums have ... this is a time to grab bodies - so this matters

Yes, I know it matters - the question is what can actually be done right now - but if you look, you'll see that I've done it.
