Meditative or maybe soothing, serene, calming?

I'm not sure what sort of mood or atmosphere this scene creates for me.

I do not get a feeling or mood consistent with soothing, serene, or calm. I think the reasons are evident. First the colors are intense. More muted and pastel colors might have worked for the mood you want to create. There is also a competition between the flowers and the background which does not help create any sort of soothing, serene or calm mood. This competition includes the colors but also the difficulty of isolating the leaves on the stem from the background.

Another example of competition between the background and subject would be the tension created by the lower anther aligned with the purple oval in the background. Some of the round and strong bokeh shapes also add complexity detracting from any softer feelings.

I don't mean to imply that this image is a failure but for me it does not evoke meditative, soothing, serene or calming feelings.

I think "relaxing" was the word I was looking for for the atmosphere it suggests to me.
