I prefer the Nikon from the two pictures above. But it would be good to know which is the more accurate colour.

Interesting comment. I've always considered digital color accuracy to be pretty much meaningless - after all, can we not fake about any color rendition we wish in photoshop or, perhaps to a lesser degree, by adjusting our monitors?

It's a good point. But if I use something like a Spyder to calibrate my monitor, I would expect my camera to display an accurate representation of what my eyes can see. With my Fuji's using the Provia film simulation, that is what seems to be happening.

Looking at the two images above, they give different colours - so one is going to be more accurate than the other. That's all I meant.

In the first photo, the Pentax's colors are much better balanced.
    A blue/cyan dominance is perceptible with KeyMission80.

It is always better to compare several photos, in different lighting, to get a more precise idea.

Probably because I shoot primarily Velvia-50 with a variety of lens brands, whose coatings produce a wide variety of color rendition, I don't pay much attention to accurate color, just so it's pleasing to my eye. That said, I think my Nikon Df with Leica R lenses produces pretty accurate skin tones.

When I know the person, and see their picture on my monitor that I took, I know pretty well how accurate the colors are.

@Maoby Excellent comparison. Didn't realize one of the Key Mission models was Q size. I paid most attention to one that had a big bubble shaped lens occupying the whole camera front. Love my Pentax Q and Q7. I'll soon add another.
    Thanks,

Thanks. Probably Q7 or QS1. Considering converting one to full spectrum.

@Maoby there was a Panasonic m4/3 very close to Pentax Q size. Have you ever used one? Of course, the bigger format will catch up to it soon enough with larger lenses. Still, it is intriguing.
    Thanks,

No, the tiny Panasonic Lumix GM1 (2013) and Panasonic Lumix GM5 (2014) unfortunately sell for too much on the rental market.

But they are very pretty tiny cameras, I would love to get my hands on one of them one day.
