Hello, everyone and thanks for making Contributions to this worthwhile endeavor. With the newer Forum structure, we’ll see how it goes another month or 2. Other image threads on this site are interesting and I’ve participated.

This Monthly thread will serve as a place for those DPRevived.com members who own Fuji gear to share their recent work. It's just fine for owners to post images made with their “other” cameras, but the idea is to allow owners who enjoy their Fuji cameras to compare notes, tips, and any other helpful hints. Whether it was taken with an ancient point and shoot or the current GFX cam, all images are welcome.

To contribute your image, please respond to the original thread. Please include at the top your message a title to reflect what you wish to convey. Consider making it somewhat entertaining… it may add some “spice.” In addition to uploading/embedding your image, please tell us a little about the image if you wish. It is helpful to some of us who are less traveled to talk about the location of your photo if possible. If you can provide details such as camera, settings, and processing, that would be great for people reviewing the images.

If you wish C&C (comments/critique) please indicate that in your post. In this thread it should not be assumed everyone wants C&C. However, if you want specific feedback (composition, exposure, subject, etc.), don’t hesitate to mention it. It may be helpful to respondents what your needs may be.

    Thanks,

    Bob, your humble host

    PS…… Post away!

No relative of mine. Just something I observed while walking through the horse barn. Unfortunately, using a camera recipe that (unsurprisingly) maximized the “green” in (I didn’t recognize them as such at the time) sodium vapor lights… Next year I’ll use a different recipe for the shots in the barns.

I’ll probably use a different recipe for the Fair itself too — that’s kind of the point of my having them.

The moon. A long running fixation of mine to be able to take a decent picture. This month was the 'blue moon' and I thought - never a better time. So, out came the X-T5 and my 70-300. And it was horrible. I could not get any sharpness at all. I tried everything. See top picture (one of many - that was one of the better ones).

Two days later and I am away on holiday and the moon appears. So try again. This time with one significant difference. I used a TRIPOD!!! Yes, that has been my issue all the time.

I am really happy with the second picture and it just shows that thinking before snapping can make all the difference. Note that both pictures were taken with my 70-300 and have been cropped in Photoshop Elements. A tiny amount of sharpening on the second picture.

    Alan,

Your second picture looks good, if a little lacking in contrast. but the first one looks out of focus to me. There should have been plenty of light the other night, and you could have used a short enough exposure. By the way, what were the exposure values? I see no exif data.

That said, it was completely overcast here, as is common when there is something interesting to see in the sky!

1/1600 at F5.6. ISO was 3200. The photo is still on my camera. No exif because Elements chops that off (I must stop using it!).

Second one is 1/1000 at F5.6 and ISO 320.

This bird decided to land at the top of a tree nearby. This is a crop from my 18-135, processed with Capture One with Creative 8 legacy style effect added. I quite like it.

Looks like a parrot though I am not birder. If so, didn't know they are wild near you....could have escaped the cage of a neighbor.

I don't know. There were two of them and we are currently in a motorhome on a campsite.

I like this, not least because of the aspect ratio.

The first picture is odd: it is exposed approximately three stops more than the second, but doesnt look it.

    Enjoy your holiday!

That explains everything. Nothing you can do about it some nights. We have many of them here!
