Meet Dr Jana, Keeper of Singapore’s botanical treasures at the Singapore Herbarium in the Singapore Botanic Gardens. With about 800,000 preserved plant specimens, including 10,000 rare type specimens, the Singapore Herbarium is a time capsule of botanical history.
Exciting news! The Singapore Herbarium is getting ready for its largest-ever digitalisation project, aiming to digitalise around 800,000 specimens! Once completed, it will be the largest online database of specimens housed in Southeast Asia – opening doors for research, knowledge sharing and collaboration.
