I have just become a member of this forum. In my welcome thread there was a reply that said I should post here. I live in Adelaide, South Australia. I guess where I live now would be classed as the inner southern suburbs. I don't venture into the city very often these days. Not with a camera anyway. It is just the beginning of spring here. A couple of months ago I did a city walk along North Terrace during the Illuminate Adelaide Festival. This was sponsored by Sony and a local Camera Store. Unfortunately the weather was less than ideal. Anyway, here are a few pics from that night.

North Terrace I believe.
Your photo retains enough of the street/building, plane tree and reflection details for it to be recognizable as a location. Then the light trails add movement and drama while taking the viewer into the image. I think you got the exposure right - we see the street but have enough dark areas for the light trails to stand out strongly. -

The city of Vienna has been working at filling spaces with plants and trees that are supposed to mitigate global wrming. So far I havent felt any of the promised effects. I took these shots with my phone on the last day of September 2025 very close to the centre of the city. They have been processed minimally.

Austrian National Holiday 26 Oct 2025
The good thing about this annual celebration falling on a Sunday is that more people come the Heldenplatz in Vienna to participate. The bad thing is that more people come to participate! So I could not get near the action for the crowds. (I will try again next year!)
I did not like to go home empty-handed, however. So here are some shots taken from the rose garden nearby.

The Rathaus (town hall) is just a block to the right. The sun allows one to see details on the tower that cannot be seen from the ground with the naked eye. It seems that there are quite a few metal stays supporting it. If I were to climb to the top, I should be afraid of snapping the pinnacle off with my weight!

I was out and about at 9:30 yesterday, and the light was particularly good. Of course, I had left my camera at home...
This is a view of the Lobkowitz Palace. The original owner was a music patron, and the first performance of Beethoven's Third, Eroica, Symphony was given in the not very large concert hall. The spire behind is that of St Augustine's Church, where the hearts of Habsburg emperors are kept. (The bodies are in the crypt of a chuch about 100 metres up the road to the right of the photo.)
